“Need to bring punchline up”
“I’ve always been a bit bow-legged and had different knee problems since I was young. With this practice, I can actually feel my legs aligning underneath me. Before, I used to have a lot of clunking in the knees. Now, I don’t feel my knees, they just move easily. My step feels bouncy again, and I can walk and occasionally even wear heels without irritating them.”
- Elizabeth H, Pilates Instructor and busy mom of teenage kids from Redmond WA
“I can bend my knee easily, sit cross-legged and get through long flights without discomfort.”
"I wasn’t able to bend the knee without it being painful. Standing or sitting too long would make it stiff or the back of the knee would swell up. The guided practices changed that.
- Uma M, Software Engineer and busy mama from Mercer Island WA
“I’m able to run, swim and bicycle. My knee feels great!
I ran my third half marathon this summer. Every single time I’ve gotten faster. I can finish a run or swim with more dignity and grace than the people around me. I had plantar fasciitis and a meniscus tear in my knee and was considering an expensive PRP procedure when I found Shrutee. Walking was a challenge - walking kids to school, walking to the mailbox, around the house. Its has been a transformational three months!”
Patty Bredice, Three times Ironman Triathlete from Kirkland WA
“After my first session, I could stand and hold myself in a way that was actually alleviating the pain in my knee!
“So much happened in just 5 sessions with Shrutee! I had a torn meniscus in my right knee and was on crutches., and taking 3 Advils (2x daily!). After 5 weeks, I’m walking around with no pain! Run down stairs, stand-up and have conversations, I can teach and meet the children in my classroom where I need to meet them. And no more Advil! You’re not just in the physical realm, you’re touching into other realms. It's this holistic picture and yet with an immediate and lasting result you don’t find in other places.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I feel better from a hands-on consultation near Redmond?
Are you able to provide support on zoom or is it only in person? What if I don’t live near you?
What can I expect from a consultation?
A consult is our first 1:1 meeting pertaining to the challenge you’d like to solve and informs us of what game changing strategy it will take to make the breakthrough you desire.
Think of this time as organized in three parts. Part 1 usually takes 5-10 minutes. We get to know each other in the context of the challenge. I ask follow up questions from the intake form you fill out ahead of time. I might have you walk around or simulate an activity where this challenge shows up most.
Part 2 is the majority of our time (30-40 minutes) where we dive right into solving this challenge. I will get you comfortable lying down unless our context from part 1 requires us to work in standing or sitting. I use my touch to start a conversation with your body and nervous system; I listen and respond to your non-verbal cues (skeletal, muscle and movement patterns). There could be some verbal guidance as well.
Part 3 is the last 5-10 minutes of our time. You get to feel the qualitative change in the state of your mind and body. You sense it in the upright activity we chose from part 1 (walking, sitting, running, skiing, knitting etc). I share specific things I discerned that point to whether we’re a good fit to get the results you desire. You reflect on your experience. If you’re interested in working together, I share the options and we go from there.
Will I feel better after the consultation is over?
You’ll get a very good taste for the results you can expect to get momentum with, if we choose to work together. Most clients find an immediate respite during their first session, one they often report they hadn’t found in years.
What kind of clients and pain have you worked with? Can you help with my kind of pain?
Over the years, I’ve worked with a diverse range of pain points and diagnoses including plantar fasciitis, bunions, reynaud, knee pain and hip pain with and without injury or surgery, back pain, sciatic pain, neck, jaw pain and related dizziness, shoulder and arm issues like carpal tunnel, tennis elbow; fibromyalgia, sleep issues, posture, tail bone/pubic pain pre and post pregnancy.
The pain you’re having in one part of your body is inextricably linked to other parts of you. You just may not be aware of the connections and/or don’t know how to work with them in a way that can provide lasting relief. This is my specialty from 5.5 years of training in studying movement, bones and muscles in a neuroscientific context. All that said, the proof of the pudding is in the consultation, I say!
If you don’t see your pain/diagnosis here or aren’t sure if I work with your challenge, please contact me and we can have a more in depth conversation about it.
I do NOT have debilitating pain but off and on level of discomfort that I’m trying to prevent from becoming debilitating pain. Am I broken enough for you?
Anybody can learn how to move better in their body. When you move better, you don’t suffer pain from compression, imbalance, torque, friction and degeneration; you also improve functional qualities like propulsion, proprioception, balance, strength and stamina that help you to pursue an active life for much longer. If you have off and on discomfort, you might be ready to learn these lifelong skills in my group program. Check out The Sensory Movement Club.
Do you work with athletes?
Yes! I love working with athletes. Your body awareness is strong and our work will hugely empower you to enjoy your sport better, longer and reduce risk of injury.
I routinely work with equestrians, hikers, skiers, runners and bikers, triathletes. These could be hobbyists wanting to incorporate fun, companionship, time for self or lifetime passion with a sport.
With equestrians we work to improve their stance, balance their pelvis in the saddle, finding their heel, capacity to better communicate with their horse etc. With other athletes we work on a range of things including improving speed, stamina, reducing repetitive strain and risk of re-injury and capacity to have an active life for a long time while maintaining their physical integrity. Here’s an example:
“I’m an equestrian and worked with Shrutee to improve my riding biomechanics. I’d been going to horse shows making the same mistakes with my pelvis tucked, draining the forward momentum of my sweet buckskin. We worked on loosening my hips and finding a neutral pelvis. I ended many sessions standing up tall and feeling like a queen. Like I was actually wearing my crown! Her guided recordings did a nice job of helping me visualize what I need to do to find that place.”
Shannon Donahue, dresssage rider
Will it take 3-6 month commitment for me to see results?
Not necessarily. It depends on the extent of your discomfort and your life. We decide this during the consultation. My intent is for you to see results during the consultation itself.
For clients in a lot of discomfort or long term pain, I can say from experience that it typically takes about 2 months to get to a point where pain is not defining your day to day. From then on, you start to learn how to sustain the improvement. The duration of the treatment includes not only getting you out of pain but also helping you learn the ropes to sustain this freedom on your own in your day to day life as well as while pursuing new activities and adventures that you might want to pursue as you feel better. As outlined in the steps above, this takes unlearning from deeply ingrained body habits and making the paradigm shift in approach that is different from what you might have been exposed to before.
Can I get reimubursed for these sessions through my health insurance?
My services aren’t covered by insurance. What that means is that you pay me directly and may get reimbursed by your insurance company depending on your plan benefits.
